Have been testing the new Nik HDR Efex Pro this morning. Not bad at all:

Curious if this was the instant effect or after you pushed/pull some sliders ... This one certainly looks quite natural without the plasticky look and feel.

Looks good. It doesn't have that overdone look that so many HDR images do. I love the dramatic sky.

I agree with the others.  Looks great.  Did it take much tweaking?...maybe a before shot if you have time to post it?....john

Hi Stef, that is just sensational looking.. very nice.    That's one of my plans - to investigate HDR.

(by the way, I have left Flickr)

Now this is how HDR should look (IMHO) - not obvious!

Great shot.

Very nice pic and HDR handling!

I have HDR Efex Pro plug-in for Aperture and I have found it very useful tool, which gives you nice results.

Thanks for all you kind comments. Yes I did play around with all the sliders- so this is not right out of the box. Am writing a tutorial about it and I have to say it works very nicely indeed. This "hdr" was made from one single shot. I don't like over-cooked hdr shots, but than this is personal taste. I am evaluating Photomatix against Nik's hdr software at the moment. It definitely wins over Photoshops HDR capabilities.

nice work Stef - I think the black and white helps with this - such a wide dynamic range in colour may not have worked as well?
Interested in your thoughts on that aspect....

A lovely image but I'm not totally convinced with hdr yet even though I've had a dabble maybe it's because I.ve seen so many "overcooked" shots that it's left me cold same as the majority of shots with running water looking like milk it's a personal thing I suppose.
