Deck Chairs
« on: February 11, 2011, 10:32:57 PM »
Hi,

Sunny day, north london, these chairs were laid out in the grounds of a stately home waiting for a Will Young Concert. I didn't stay for the gig as I'm not a fan, but the chairs made a great subject.

Great play with shallow depth of field. The subject matter is great and if you would like you could even try and crop the top out or crop some part of it to a square format?

I agree about the square crop.
Looks a very sharp image, what lens were you using ???

I also agree with Stef and Rob.  I would not like to get no 57 and have to peer into the back of a taller head.....john

Hi All,

Thanks for comments! Rob it was shot with A350 with a  Tamron 70-300 zoom at 210mm, F4.5, 1/1000th sec at iso100 - it's a lens which does sometimes give good sharpness but it's a swine for AF hunting - particularly when I use it to shoot moving targets.

Love the shallow depth of field in this one.

reminds me of this one that I took with the Tamron 90mm.

Richard

Whereas I might crop this a wee bit tighter (some off the bottom), the use of DOF is very good here. Excellent lighting and the dark background is perfect as it sets off the chairs nicely. For "just some chairs" this is a fine photograph. Well done.

Regards
