What kind of results can I expect from my equiptment.
« on: June 24, 2010, 10:47:49 AM »
I have not long started my progressive passion in photography. From an idea of a friend in the local Flickr group, the 365(day) project is going good. I have been adding to my bag and now have the following:-

Minolta 7D
Camera Trigger Cord
x2 Jessops convertor
Minolta af 28-80 5.6(kit lens)
Sigma af hs 70-210 4/5.6(kit lens)
Sigma af 24-70 4./5.6 Aspherical
Carl Zeiss (mf) 135mm 2.8
Carl Zeiss (mf) 50mm 1.8
Macro extention tubes
Macro + close up fiters
Tripod.

Is there anything essential that is missing.

What aspects of photography are you particularly interested in?

You use different bits of kit for different things (obviously).
The main thing that looks to be 'missing' from a general range of kit standpoint is a flash - but how useful this woudl be depends on what you want to shoot.
It is difficult to explain to white mice that black cats are lucky...

The flash yes I agree and require the 5600(D) for best results. My interests are varied from Macro to sunsets and all in between. A 2.8 hs would also probably finish it of nicely.

HI and welcome to the forum.
If you are intereseted in sunsets, then a wide angle lens would be a great addition as something wider than 24mm would be great.
A Tamron 17-50 would be my first choice of lens, or a Tamron/sony 11-18.

From what I hear from others, anything with Car Zeiss written on it, would normally mean that it'll be giving good photos. Check the Photodo and DPReview websites for better info.
JapanesePhotos.Asia; Some basic photographic how to's.
Sony the200, Minolta 28mm 2.8, 50mm 1.4, 70-300mm Gregarious, 100mm 2.8 macro.

Carl Zeiss is one of the high-end lens manufacters, I have one for my A700 but both my Rollei and Has have them buit-in. Quality, sheer quality ... I'm anxiously waiting for the CZ 24 later this year ..
