Quest for the perfect photo
« on: February 25, 2008, 07:32:43 PM »
Not sure if you are familiar with the CNN Quest series but the current episode has Richard Quest in search of the perfect photo.  Its very interesting, covers different genres.  It is worth watching:

Thanks Asher. I got sent this the other day too. Very interesting indeed. A HUGE conversation starter among photographers I'd say.

The first step is admitting you have a problem.

can there be a perfect photo? perfect technically maybe, but a perfect image? so subjective. I'll have to try and check out the program.

maybe we should have it as a challenge theme :)

Its interesting and really made me think about it a lot today. For the theme and sense of this post then no there is not a perfect photo everyone’s opinions are just too different but I also think that.

Yes there is a perfect photo but it’s not an award winning photo or a competition winning one. For me it’s just a photo that I can look at every day and it still brings back memories of happiness or sadness and one you never tire of seeing.

The perfect photo is personal just like these perfect moments in life that come along from time to time. I am sure everyone here has had perfect moment in life when they felt nothing can get better, moments like when there gf agreed to become their wife or seeing your new born baby or grandchild for the first time, for that one moment everything becomes perfect and the perfect photo is like that.

Its not pin sharp from side to side or follows the rule of thirds, it just clicks something in your head or heart.

Ok I will stop before you all think I am totally crazy or just plain drunk 
