I have a Sony a100 body, I have purchased a 14mm f2.8 ed as if umc lens. I can't get it to work. Followed directions with no results. Any suggestions?
You don't say who the manufacturer of the lens is, so i assume it is a Samyang of which I know nothing about. However you can read all about it Here (http://m/reviews/lenses/Samyang-14mm-F2.8-ED-AS-IF-UMC_review604.html). It generally gets quite good reviews. However the fact that there are reviews means that it should work. Saying it doesn't work does not give enough information for us to help. Be more specific as it could be a wrong camera setting or a bad lens and a number other reasons in between.
It does look like a Samyang lens. I hope you know these are manual lenses so set the aperture using a ring on the lens, manual focus etc. Great learning experience. I have the fisheye on my A77 and it works well especially with focus peaking. Good luck if I can be of any further help let me know im sure there not that much difference between the two lenses.
I'm experiencing the same problems as you and trying to find solutions.
Can you give any more details?
Which Camera are you using, and in what way does the lens 'not work'?
For example - can you simply not take a picture, you can take picture but they are always very light / very dark, etc.
