Adorama USA
« on: July 22, 2011, 10:30:26 AM »
I am based in the Middle East/ Cyprus, and am thinking of ordering some photographic equipment from Adorama USA. Has anyone used this company, and if so what was their experience?

I am especially interest in the view of photographers who have used their export service?

I will use FedEx for the shipping (I have used this before from Korea, and it was superb).

Cheers

I've used them several times to ship to me in Australia - never had a problem, and good service.

The only other store I'm happy ordering from the US with is B&H photo video

They are a very reputable company.  I've bought several things from them.  In addition to being a good store, the have a customer service person (Helen Oster) that monitors various forums here in the States and is always available to help with any problems.  If you have a problem, let me know and I'll link Helen's email for you.

Thanks guys!

It sounds like Adorama is the one for me, with FedEx shipping.

I used FedEx before, when I purchased my Dicain Vertical Grip from Korea. More expensive, but I would rather pay for their excellent service. I was able to 'track' my parcel all the way.

Cheers

Dave

I had PMed you on getting stuff to this 'dry part' (not much options and what is available is at exhorbitant prices) of the world from B&H but didn't mention that full tracking is available with UPS World Saver too. And cheaper than FedEx.

Earlier I had got some telecope stuff from AgenaAstro and they used USPS Express Mail Service. It took a week but that too has full tracking up to delivery.

Modified - I found the website of BH Photo easier to narrow down on what you wanted.

I'm curious as to whether or not   www.resellerratings.com  works for you folks in Europe ?  It is a really good site to check out the credibility of a vendor.  Would somebody try it and let us know ?  Thanks.  I added this because of the Adorama question.  (They have a very high rating)

Subbu,

Great! Glad to hear that!

It looks like I may be purchasing from B&H too, because Adorama don't have everything I want in stock and I'm not paying for two sets of FedEx shipping charges.

I'm thinking of having it shipped to Cyprus anyway, because I doubt if I can get it delivered here before Ramadan starts in about a weeks time.

We will see! I may even wait until after my vacation in September. It will be a bit cooler to try out the new toys!

Cheers
