Peaceful and helpful forum
« on: April 04, 2012, 05:24:08 AM »
In my post "SONY pulls the plug..." under Crop Sensor tab, AScot had written that wrestling match is reserved for Canikon forums :-) . Truly DDF is a very peaceful and helpful forum.

Joined the forum of Fuji when I got my Fuji X-S1 recently. OMG folks jostle to show their supremacy and even dole out advices without checking. I felt hijacking thread is common there.

Before I started the thread 'Which software?' in DDF, I posted the same question in fuji forum. None really answered to the point and ultimately one lady drove me nuts when she wrote SONY Lightbox is a wonderful RAW processing software!! She was going gaga over IDC first and when I countered her she wrote she meant Lightbox!! The discussion ended there. Over here in DDF with all the inputs from you helpful folks I have zeroed in on LR4 or PSE10. Thanks a lot.

Someone in Fuji forum asked if to use CPL or Linear Pol filters for bridge cameras and the info given was CPL was a must for all digital cameras!! Oh God!!!

Whew... I'd post only my fuji images and look for comments on that. Nothing more there.

Only DDF can be DDF.

My dear Subbu,

Just stay with us and toss the Fuji forum . We are a very tolerant folk here which all the other camera forums are not ;) We believe that all cameras can deliver outstanding results, which are only surpassed by Sony cameras and their owners. We believe that the grass is not greener on the other side and we would never look over the fence in the first place! So, save yourself the time and aggrevation to lurk around their forums, there is nothing you can learn that you cah't learn over here ;)
DDF for EVER !!!

Stef

I am not leaving DDF. Still SONY is my primary camera ;-)

Since the softwares like C1, PSP did not open Fuji RAF files I tired to get some guidance from Fuji users. Got an instant taste of that forum.

By default when one registers Fuji cameras in their website for warranty he/she becomes a member of their forum. Just to get rid of my old P&S I went to an exchange sale (that is rare in this part of the world) and got the XS-1. Can you imagine getting $230 for a 9 yr old P&S? That camera I got primarily for my daughter. An all in one without any need of changing lenses. Unfortunately SONY wasn't in the scheme. Else would've got a A35.

Thought would get some support from Fuji users. I was wrong :-(
