How is it managed?
« on: November 18, 2011, 12:10:30 PM »
Was just wondering how Dynax Digital Forum is maintained. Unlike other forums I see no ad. No asking for contributions. then how?

Through the benevolence (ie money) of site founder Gazraa and myself.
Through the incredible dedication and devotion of our Admins Rob and AScot.
Through the tireless efforts of our moderators.
Through the camaraderie, knowledge, and community spirit of our members.

You're right, we are happily ad free. We have tried ads at various times, but the negative impact of spoiling the look of the site is not justified by the small income they bring in. I don't think we've ever asked for donations, but I don't rule that out as a future option, if need be.

Mainly we want the site to be useful and friendly :)

Fother   - I think I'm going to cry........ I am not worthy (especially as I've been a bit absent).......
Seriously I never actually realised that you and Gazra forked out for the fee. All power to yer elbows and I'm sure you'll go to  the WWW version of Valhalla or even better if there is any justice in this world.

Yoeman's service to SONY Alpha - Minolta fans and in a way to SONY (SIGMA, Tamron). SONY must take note and sponsor the site.

Why take all the burden yourself? A small subscription should be charged I believe.

In another forum where I am a member, paying members (no fixed amount) get the site without ads :-) and that I feel is fair.

Anyday count on me to contribute (not my entire salary ;-) ).

There's no way we'd ever demand subscription fees - it would discourage new members and stifle the community.

At one stage we had ads for guests, ad free for members, but managing the ads was more hassle than its worth.

If you're keen to make a donation we can talk about it (PM me), but no one is obliged to :)
