It has been very quiet recently.

I suspect this is a combination of factors;

The continued rise of Facebook, etc leading people away.
The slow decline of the a-mount reducing the potential number of posters.
The rise of the e-mount, particularly the full frame versions, with a number of people switching from other brands to Sony - which leads to a greater degree of discussion of E mount on more general photography forums, so reduced the number who seek out more specialised forums like this.

And as it gets fewer new posts, so less replies, and gradually it declines.

Sad.

You two are correct, there is very little use of the site these days.  The admins and mods are watching but it is not up to us to create traffic.
If you are ambivalent about whether it continues or folds then continue as you have been and sooner or later the plug will be pulled.
If you would like it to continue on then all of you need to take action.

Someone has posted! swanseadave thank you. Your right, use it or lose it. Faldrax, I don't use facebook nor do I visit many other websites where you can post replies. I just cant stand the trolls and offensive language. We will not continue for long like this, it just doesn't make sense.

I`ve been concerned for a while Ascot.I don`t use Facebook et al and also contribute to other forums(should that be fora?)Amateur Photographer,Dyxum,CiC,Photoclubalpha,Luminous landscape.Of these Photoclubalpha is by far the worst.Many of it`s boards have seen no use for years.I`ve emailed David Kilpatrick about it to no avail.

Dyxum and CiC are thriving while AP has lost old members and gained new.

I do hope that people will return.

I am a person who used to use the forum a lot. But sometimes suddenly life bring thinks we dont expect and this is one reason i went away for a while.
Now after 4 months i have started getting interest back to photography and to pure and good forums like our.

Rex, I am so glad that you are still around. Life does throw curves at us all, but as you have found, you must pick yourself up and carry on regardless. That you have found your interest in photography again is good for you and certainly for this forum. We badly need you and all our members who have, understandably, been drawn to other things.

Yes swanseadave, David Kilpatrick does appear to be taking his websites downturn badly as unlike us, his income is being hurt. Dyxum's lens database is far and away their strong point. however their posting rate has also taken a hit. Conversely, John and I do this for the love of photography, not for gain. The satisfaction of advising/helping members who want to know about or express themselves through photography, is sufficient and we are still here for all our members, and for new members who may join.
