RAW thumbnails discoloured in Raw Shooter Premium - help?
« on: January 04, 2007, 10:30:26 PM »
After having my 7D for two years i finally decided to have a go and shoot in RAW. I've taken my camera with me to work this week and shot loads of pics.

When i download them into Raw Shooter Premium the thumbnails appear fine for about a minute then they seem to turn into a purple and white 'negative' and i'm unable to get them back to a 'normal' shot.

Please help, what i'm i doing wrong.

Thanks in advance

Odd.  If you open the MRW, does the full size version also appear purple-white, or normal? If you open it, then close it again is the thumbnail still strange, or corrected?

PS just editing your post to give a meaningful subject line - the board is browsable, not a lit of topics all called help :)

If i leave them they stay normal, as soon as i open the MRW, the full size is purple and white and the thumbnails stay the same, i had this problem when ifirst got the camera and gave up i decided to give it another go and see if it works this time.

Hmm, ok sounds like Raw Shooter Premium isn't reading the MRW properly -- how up to date is the version you're working from?

I know Raw Shooter was bought out by adobe (and I believe used in the backbone of lightroom), but you might be able to get an update that has better 7D compatibility

The default for RawShooter might be incorrectly reading your mrw files.

Either that or the its reading the white balance incorrectly. I haven't had a problem with the 5D and mrw files.

If you have space somewhere, post the mrw file up and link to it. We can download n try it for you.

I think there are options on the main set up for the default type, perhsp you can check there and ensure its the 7d its set to?

Hope you get it working - RawShooter really helps (I have found).

Looked ok in the thumbnail

First is the original
Second is the tweaked in RawShooter.

If you mean the thumbnail on the bottom right, it is probably you have the white balance tool set, it changes the bottom right as an indication to the white balance you are selecting on the main pic.

If it is the top thumbnail - dunno - is there an FAQ or email to the developer?
Or play with the settings?

Good luck
