HDR
« on: January 26, 2007, 12:22:36 AM »
Questions. Can HDR be done from a JPEG and from a single pic? Also can it be done in PS CS?

Also has anyone tried easyhdr? If so whats it like.

I realise I'm a year behind the trends and B&W is the latest 'fashion' but what I've seen of good HDR on Flickr gets my juices flowing. Got to give it a try.

I believe it can be done but it's not something I've tried. I keep meaning to give HDR a proper go as there is some great stuff about but I haven't got round to it.

As for how you do it with one jpeg..... ummmm errrrr ...... sorry

Hi,

Took a shot in Raw. Saved via Raw Shooter under and normal exposure, then used a HDR program to combine. Haven't uploaded the result though (sorry) will try to remember to do it at some point over the weekend/tonight.

Don't think it works as well as when you tripod and bracket the shot (ie up and down exposures from a stationary position).

About time Ali - over here a couple of the photo magazines had articles about why to shoot RAW which left you in no doubt that it was the best way to go.

As for the jpeg could you not adjust brightness/contrast on the photo (brightning any dark areas and dulling down the highlights) saving as different files and then combine them?  Wouldn't be the same as taking the different pictures but might work.
